Top Mobile App Party Games

Updated: May 23, 2023

Throwing a party can be a lot of fun, but keeping your guests entertained can be a challenge. Fortunately, there are plenty of mobile apps available that can help make your party unforgettable and your friends will be asking you when the next party will be. In this post, we’ll take a look at some of the best party game mobile apps for iPhone.

1. Heads Up!

Heads Up! is the first party game that comes to everyone’s mind because it’s simple and was one of the first party apps to hit the app stores. Also, did you know that Ellen DeGeneres created it? To play, one person holds the iPhone to their forehead, and their friends give them clues to help them guess what’s on the screen. The app comes with a variety of categories to choose from, including celebrities, animals, and movies. The app costs $0.99 to download, but it’s well worth it for some tried and true laughter.

2. Quiplash

Quiplash is a game that’s part of the Jackbox collection and is also similar to Cards Against Humanity, but with prompts that are more open-ended. Players are given a prompt, and they have to come up with a funny or creative answer that will get the most votes from the other players. This game can get as dirty as your group wants it to get. The app is free to download, but you’ll need to purchase the game itself for $9.99.

3. Picolo

Picolo offers a variety of game modes, including Truth or Dare, Never Have I Ever, and more. Players simply input their names and the app generates fun and sometimes risqué prompts that encourage players to drink and socialize. The app also offers customizable settings to adjust the level of intensity of the game.

4. Psych!

Psych! is a game that’s similar to Cards Against Humanity, but with a twist. Instead of filling in the blanks, players create fake answers to questions and try to fool their friends into choosing their answer. The app is free to download and comes with a variety of categories to choose from, including movies, TV shows, and celebrities.

5. Word Mines

Of course, Word Mines has a spot on this list, but because we are chivalrous and high-integrity individuals, we’ve put it all the way on the bottom of the list. Word Mines is available for free on the Apple App Store and will have you and your friends rolling on the floor laughing. There aren’t many games that will have you describing words like twerk, thigh gap, or cankles in creative and round-about ways. It’s the best game to learn how dirty your friends really are.

There’s plenty of party game mobile apps out there to spice things up at your next game night. Whether you’re looking for something a little more tame (like if you’re playing with your aunt and uncle at Thanksgiving) or something raunchier for your college dormies, there’s an app out there that will fit the vibe of the party. So the next time you’re throwing a party, consider downloading one of these apps to keep your friend or family laughing into the wee hours of the night.
